Dental Implant Procedure: Your Journey to a Lasting Smile

Missing teeth can affect more than just your smile — they can change how you eat, speak, and feel. Dental implants are a strong, long-term solution designed to replace missing teeth and restore confidence.

At Toowoomba Dental, we offer full-mouth dental implant options, including All-On-4® and All-On-X, right here in Toowoomba. Our focus is on providing you with natural-looking, functional teeth.

Dental implants are securely placed into the jawbone, giving your new teeth strength and stability. With proper care, implants are designed to last for many years and have a proven success rate of around 95%. Referral to a local Specialist Maxillofacial Surgeon for the placement of implants, and the All-On-4® bridge (teeth) is completed by Dr Michael Baker

Thinking about implants? Your first step is a complimentary consultation with Dr Michael Baker. You’ll receive a personalised treatment plan, transparent pricing, and advice on the best path forward — all before making any decisions.

There’s no need to travel to Brisbane for full mouth implants. Our experienced team offers advanced implant solutions, right here at Toowoomba Dental.

Dental Implant Types

Single Dental Implants

Single Dental Implants

A single dental implant is used to replace a missing tooth. The process happens in two stages. First, a small titanium post is placed into the jawbone, acting like the root of a natural tooth.

Once the area has healed and the implant has securely fused with the bone (usually over 3–4 months), a custom-made crown is fitted on top, restoring both the look and function of your tooth.

Multiple Dental Implants

Multiple Dental Implants

If you're missing several teeth, multiple dental implants can be placed to restore your smile. Just like with a single implant, titanium posts are placed into the jawbone to act as replacement roots. Once healed, these implants can support individual crowns or be used together to hold a bridge, helping you eat, speak, and smile with confidence again.

This is a great option if you have healthy gums, good bone support, and are looking for a stable, long-term solution for missing teeth.

Full Mouth Dental Implants

All-On-4® or All-On-X

Full Mouth Dental Implants

If you're missing most or all of your teeth, or if dentures are no longer cutting it, full mouth dental implants could be the answer.

This treatment uses multiple implants to secure a full set of replacement teeth, designed to look natural and stay firmly in place.

There are two common options:

All-on-4® — This approach uses four Nobel Biocare-branded implants to support a full arch of teeth.

All-on-X — Similar to All-on-4®, but the number of implants can vary (four or more) based on your individual needs and bone structure.

Benefits of Dental Implants

1

A long-term solution

With proper care, implants are designed to last — making them a solid, lasting investment for your health and confidence.

2

Feels and functions like natural teeth

Dental implants are designed to restore not just your smile, but your bite — so you can eat, talk, and laugh without worrying about movement or discomfort.

3

Restores your smile

Dental implants give you a natural-looking smile that’s secure and functional. Unlike dentures, they stay in place, allowing you to smile, speak, and eat with confidence, restoring both your appearance and your self-assurance.

Ralf - Single Dental Implant
I have avoided going to the dentist at all costs due to negative experiences. I was highly apprehensive about undergoing the required procedure and the possible pain involved. However, having a dentist you can trust can make all the difference.

Dr. Michael Baker's approach and care made the process surprisingly simple, and I didn't expect it to be so. Now, I can eat normally again, and my tooth feels like my own. My problems with infections and root canals are gone, and I no longer experience pain from my tooth.

What Treatment Are You Interested In?

This information aims to provide you with some general information about dental implant surgery. However, please note that this information does not replace the professional advice given by your dentist. Your dentist can give you more detailed information about the risks, benefits, and limitations of the procedure. If you have any questions, it is recommended that you make a list and discuss them with your dentist. If you are unsure about the advice given to you, you can always seek a second opinion from another dentist. It is worth mentioning that some oral procedures may require the expertise of dental specialists such as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, a prosthodontist, or a periodontist. If you decide to proceed with a dental implant procedure, your dentist may require you to sign a consent form. It is important that you read the form carefully and ask your dentist any questions you may have about the surgery, risks, or anything else related to the procedure.
